Mifflinburg, PA — Settled in 1770 and incorporated on April 9, 1772, Buffalo Township is located in Union County, Pennsylvania. The township, with an area of 30.6 square miles, includes the villages of Buffalo Crossroads, Cowan, Mazeppa and Vicksburg. The population was 3,536 at the 2020 census.

Meetings are open to the public at the Buffalo Township Municipal Building: 2215 Strickler Rd Mifflinburg, PA 17844. Meetings that fall on a holiday are held the 2nd Monday of the month, or as noted.

            The Buffalo Township Board of Supervisors are accepting applications for a full-time Secretary/Treasurer.

 

            The Township Secretary/Treasurer will act as a liaison to the Board of Supervisors, and coordinate functions for the effective operations of the Township.  The employee must exercise independent judgment in accordance with established rules and policies and ensure that citizens’ concerns are attended to or brought to the Supervisors’ attention.

 

            Candidates must have strong organizational skills and excellent communication skills.  Office experience with a solid command of Quickbooks and Microsoft Office is preferred.  Familiarity with website design and maintenance will also be considered.  Attendance is required at all regularly scheduled meetings, special meetings and work sessions.  Must be bondable.
